What makes a work stay work

The useful things are not the same as the things a holiday listing puts first.

• A separate bed for each person, with the sleeping arrangements shown on the home page.
• A proper kitchen for meals after a long shift, not a kettle beside a hotel bed.
• A washing machine where the home has one; exceptions are stated before you book.
• A table and chair that can handle a laptop, paperwork or a placement day.
• Parking only where the individual home lists it, with the awkward version left visible.
• Bills and Wi-Fi included where stated, with cleaning fees shown on the home and in the booking engine.

Choose the route that fits

If one of our homes works, you can see its facts, drawbacks and indicative total before handing over your dates. If the city or headcount does not fit, the enquiry route is still worth using: a person reads it and comes back with what we can actually put together.

• London: Islington N1, Hendon NW4 and Forest Gate E7.
• Greater Manchester: Salford M5, with the M602 and the wider conurbation in range.
• York: a three-bedroom whole house in Heworth with a driveway.
• Elsewhere: send the site, dates, headcount and budget so the requirement can be checked properly.

For the person booking, not just the person staying

Most work stays are arranged by a project coordinator, employer, relocation agent or office manager. The booking needs to survive a delayed programme and make sense to finance as well as the crew.
