Contractor accommodation in Manchester: one two-bed home in Salford, free parking at the front, 700 metres from the M602
For contracts, placements and site work across Greater Manchester. Two double bedrooms, a washing machine, a marked bay at the front of the building, and a clean air plan that does not charge you to drive a van through it.

The short answer. One Unity Stays home covers Greater Manchester: a two-bedroom flat in Salford, set up for people working here rather than visiting. Free parking in marked bays at the front, the M602 slip road under 700 metres away, MediaCityUK about a mile and a half. Book by the week or the month, and the discount comes off the whole stay.
What we cannot do here. We have one home in Greater Manchester, and it is in Salford rather than central Manchester: two bedrooms, one bathroom, and a dining table instead of a desk. If it is taken for your dates there is no second Unity flat in the city to move you to. Better you know that now than in week two.
What we have here
Each one opens on its own page, with the facts, the drawbacks and a calculator that gives you the total for your dates.
What a Manchester stay actually costs, and how the price is built
On a six-week job the number that matters is the total, not the nightly rate, so this site is built to show the total. Put your first night and the number of nights into the calculator and it applies the long-stay discount to the whole stay, not just to the nights past the threshold.
We do not print a rate on this page. The rate moves with the dates, and the booking engine is the system that will actually charge you, so that is the figure to take to whoever signs off the spend.
- The nightly rate, times the nights. It is a starting rate and it moves with demand, so the same six weeks does not cost the same in March and in July.
- A discount comes off the whole stay once the booking passes seven nights, and a second, larger one once it passes twenty-eight.
- A cleaning fee is charged once for the stay, not weekly. It shows in the booking engine before you pay.
- Stays over ten nights add a housekeeping visit, charged separately and booked around your shifts rather than first thing on a Tuesday.
- Bills and Wi-Fi sit inside the rate. No meter to feed, no utility bill at the end. We publish no broadband speed for this flat, so do not assume one.
- Pets are by prior arrangement at a fixed charge per pet per stay, with a limit of two dogs or one cat.
- Prices and fees include VAT. The invoice comes from Unity Space Property Ltd, VAT 506247506.
Working the total out for two people, not one
A hotel bills per room per night, so a second colleague doubles the accommodation line. Here two double bedrooms sit inside one booking and one total, and the bay at the front is part of the let rather than a separate charge. That is the whole arithmetic: the second person changes the cost per head, not the bill.
If you are putting the comparison in front of a finance team, do it in this order rather than comparing rate against rate.
- Take the whole-stay total from the calculator for your real dates. Do not take a weekly figure and multiply it up, because the discount is already inside the total.
- Add the cleaning fee once, plus a housekeeping visit if the stay runs past ten nights.
- Divide by the number of people who will genuinely sleep there. Four get a bed in a bedroom here; six means two of them are on the sofa bed in the room everyone else uses in the evening.
- Set that against rooms multiplied by nights at a hotel, plus parking, plus what the crew will claim for eating out every night when there is no kitchen.
- Confirm the final figure in the booking engine before you commit anything to a purchase order.
Where the work is in Greater Manchester
One flat can cover this city because most of the work is not in the middle of it. The Quays, the industrial park and the hospital campus sit west and south-west of the centre, which is the side the flat is already on.
- MediaCityUK, about a mile and a half away. Its tenant directory names BBC North, operational there since 2011, along with ITV, the University of Salford, a University Technical College and Future Skills at MediaCity run by Salford City College, among more than 100 organisations. The Guesty listing also names dock10.
- Trafford Park, described by Invest in Trafford as one of the largest industrial estates in Europe: over 1,300 businesses and around 35,000 people employed, with occupiers including Kellogg's, Unilever, L'Oreal, Adidas, Procter & Gamble and Amazon.
- Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust, with around 20,000 staff, serving over a million people across Salford, Oldham, Rochdale and Bury. Salford Royal is a designated Major Trauma Centre for Greater Manchester and part of the national network.
- Crescent Salford's innovation zone, a masterplan for 933 new homes and 1.7 million sq ft of commercial innovation floorspace across 29 acres between Broughton Road East and University Road, linked by Salford Rise, a podium of nearly five acres spanning Frederick Road. That is a masterplan, not site huts, so treat any programme date with care.
- Trafford Wharfside, where Manchester United propose a 100,000-seat stadium around 350 metres north-west of the current ground on a newly assembled 25-acre site. The club says it has secured most of the land and intends to keep playing at Old Trafford throughout construction. No construction start date has been confirmed, so it is a scheme rather than work under way. Old Trafford itself is under three miles from the flat.
Driving here, and what it does not cost
This is the real difference between a Manchester job and a London one, and it is why a van-based crew is better off up here. Greater Manchester's Clean Air Plan is investment-led rather than charging: the government backed that approach in 2025, and the modelling behind it showed only the non-charging route reaching compliance in 2026. There is no charging Clean Air Zone. An older van drives in and pays nothing. Clean Air GM's own FAQ makes the comparison for you: 12.50 pounds a day for a non-compliant vehicle in London.
Then there is the bay. Parking is free, on site, in marked bays at the front of the building, and which bay is yours comes with the access details before you travel. The M602 slip road is under 700 metres from the door, signed for the M60 ring road and the M62 towards Liverpool, so a job that moves around the conurbation starts from a motorway instead of a city-centre one-way system.
- By road from the flat: Manchester city centre under two miles, MediaCityUK about a mile and a half, Old Trafford under three miles, Manchester Piccadilly under three, the Trafford Centre eight, Manchester Airport twelve.
- If your site is in Trafford Park or at the Trafford Centre, the Metrolink Trafford Park Line is the alternative to driving in: a 350 million pound, 5.5 km extension branching from Pomona with six new stops, open since 22 March 2020.
- We publish no figure for parking in central Manchester. If your site is in the middle of the city, price a daily car park yourself before you assume the van beats the tram.
Getting to site without the van
Anchorage Metrolink stop is about a ten-minute walk and Harbour City about eleven. Both are on the Eccles to Ashton-under-Lyne line, and some services run via MediaCityUK. Salford Crescent railway station is fifteen to twenty minutes on foot. An Aldi and a Morrisons Daily are both within about ten minutes' walk, which matters more than it sounds on a stay measured in weeks.
- Without a car you walk to the tram first. This is Salford, not a city-centre address, and we would rather say so than let you find out on the first Monday.
- If your work is in Trafford Park, check the Trafford Park line on the TfGM planner before you decide you need the van every day.
Who this suits, and who it does not
Two double bedrooms mean two colleagues can take one booking without either of them on the sofa. That is the arrangement the flat handles best, and with a washing machine in the apartment a six-week stay does not turn into a weekly launderette run.
It is the wrong answer for a group of six who all expect their own room, for anyone who needs a proper desk rather than a four-seat dining table, and for anyone who wants to walk out into central Manchester in the evening. There is one bathroom, with a shower rather than a bath, and no outdoor space is listed for the flat at all.
Booking for a crew, a placement or a contractor
We take bookings from employers, agencies and office managers placing people on site. One invoice rather than a company card at checkout, payment terms by arrangement, and a named contact instead of a support queue.
Placements run over. Tell us both dates, the one in the contract and the one you actually expect, because extending a booking is easier than moving someone mid-job. If the dates are already gone here, or the site is somewhere we have no home, send the requirement anyway rather than starting again elsewhere.
Booking it, step by step
- Set your first night and the number of nights in the calculator on this page. It shows the whole-stay figure with the long-stay discount applied.
- Open the booking engine from the same page. It carries your dates through to the Salford listing.
- Check the price and availability there. That is the live figure and it takes precedence over anything indicative.
- Booking for a company, or need an invoice rather than a card? Send us the dates and we will put the whole figure in writing first.

Questions people ask
Will my van be charged to drive into Greater Manchester?
No. Greater Manchester's Clean Air Plan is investment-led rather than charging, an approach the government backed in 2025, and there is no charging Clean Air Zone. A non-compliant vehicle pays nothing here. Clean Air GM's own FAQ sets that against 12.50 pounds a day in London.
Do you have anything in central Manchester?
No. One home covers Greater Manchester and it is in Salford, on the western side of the city centre, under two miles out. If a central address is the requirement, say so rather than booking this one and hoping.
How does the price change between a two-week job and a six-week one?
A discount comes off the whole stay once the booking passes seven nights, and a larger one once it passes twenty-eight. It applies to every night of the stay, not only the nights past the threshold. The calculator shows the effect; the booking engine confirms the figure for your dates.
Can you invoice my company instead of taking a card?
Yes. We work with employers, agencies and relocation teams: one invoice, payment terms by arrangement and a named contact. Prices and fees include VAT and the invoice comes from Unity Space Property Ltd.
Which Greater Manchester work sites is it actually near?
MediaCityUK is about a mile and a half away and Old Trafford under three miles. We have not measured the journey to Salford Royal or to a specific unit in Trafford Park, so check those against your shift pattern before you book rather than taking a round number from us.
Can two colleagues share one booking?
Yes, and it is what the flat is set up for. Two bedrooms, each with a double bed, so neither person ends up on the sofa. Enter the real guest count in the booking engine, since the number of guests can affect the price it returns.
What happens if the contract runs over?
Tell us the contract end date and the date you actually expect, and we will try to hold the extension rather than move you mid-job. Extending an existing booking is far easier than re-booking a crew halfway through.
Is there parking for a second vehicle?
The bays at the front are free and on site, but we do not publish a number of spaces or an allocation per booking. If the crew arrives in two vans, ask us before you travel.
Need somewhere we don't have
If none of these fit, or the job is in a city we don't have a home in, send us the requirement. We place what we can ourselves and put the rest to the operators we work with.
